Elandela Private Game Reserve is a privately owned wilderness adjacent to one of the world’s most famous game reserves: South Africa’s Kruger National Park! Our huge private reserve allows its Owners to pursue their White Rhinoceros and White Lion protection programs and is fundamental to Elandela Lodges’ objective of raising global awareness to the threats of the future existence of these magnificent members of Africa’s big five!

Elandela Private Game Reserve is situated in prime Big Five Area and during our included game drives guests have a possibility of seeing Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhino and Buffalo. Elandela Private Game Reserve is predator friendly and African Wild Dogs, Hyenas and Jackals may also be part of the game viewing experience! It stands for reason that the possibility of encounters with these magnificent animals increase with more days spent at Elandela!

By offering two different luxury safari lodges on the same private reserve, Elandela Lodges endeavor to provide viable options to the ever more specific needs of the ever more eco educated photo safari traveler. Elandela Private Game Reserve offers accommodation in two completely independent and separated Lodges – Elandela Lake View Lodge and Elandela River View Lodge.

Elandela Lake View Lodge hosts up to 26 adult guests in two luxurious Honeymoon Suites, four luxurious Premier Suites, one Premier Family Unit, one Classic Family Unit and one Standard Family Unit. Children under the age of twelve may not book at Lake View Lodge. Lake View Lodge is a superior lodge with amazing Suites – renowned for superb service, spectacular scenery and a constant flow of animal life in and around the lake which you can observe safely from the covered veranda in front of your Suite.

Elandela River View Lodge – our child friendly lodge – hosts up to 26 guests in four Interleading Suites – suited for parents and up to three young children; one Deluxe Suite suited for parents and one child and one Family Suite suited for up to three guests. Children of all ages are welcome at River View Lodge but children under four years of age may not join the regular game drives in order not to disturb the other guests on the same vehicle. The remedy is for the parents to purchase a private personalized game drive for themselves only. Children of all ages remain the responsibility of the parents – both at the lodge as well as on the game drive. River View Lodge, from the safety of a cliff top, offers a typical African Wilderness view of a river bed teeming with wild life!

Elandela Lake View Lodge is specifically designed and intended for our adult visitors – guests of twelve years and older. Enjoy the tranquility of our wildlife haven in the wilderness next to Kruger National Park, in one of the meticulously equipped and serviced Honeymoon or Premier Suites located on the lake edge. Spoil your loved one by creating intimate memories at Elandela Lake View Lodge. Larger groups prefer to book one of the Family Units – Premier Family Unit, Classic Family Unit or Standard Family Unit.

Extremely comfortable & Memorable

We stayed at the reserve for 3 nights and 4 days from 7th-10th September. Actually we still haven’t checked out, but we can’t wait to share our experience here. Since it’s our first safari experience, we really appreciated the effort taken by the staff to make it extremely comfortable and memorable.
The food is of very high standard and they are very careful to take care of any allergies (which was important for our family).
Entire staff team led by Francisco was super focussed at making sure our needs our met and we enjoy the holidays. Almar was outstanding in sharing his knowledge, taking care of our meals and also walking back with us to drop us to the room when we wanted.
Our hero of the trip has been our guide Lucky – he is outstanding – thanks to him we saw much beyond Big 5. We even got to witness the lion roar in front of us, all thanks to his experience in this field!
I would highly recommend this reserve to friends and family.

Friendly & knowledgeable

Had an amazing time at Elandela. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. They love nature with their heart and go over and beyond to provide us with a great experience with the bush. The chief is a superstar. Every meal we had was tasty. I especially enjoy they are conscious about food portion and serve the right amount of high quality meal. The property was in great condition. The aesthetics was delicate! Would recommend anyone to stay at lake view.

Wonderful start to honeymoon

We loved this game lodge. We went for the start of our honeymoon and our first joint safari together.
It is a private game reserve covering a vast area. In Africa they go about the ‘Big 5’ (Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino) and at Elandela they have 4 of the 5. It turns out that Elephants are hugely destructive and not good neighbours for other animals.
Elandela lodge is amazing. Immediately outside the rooms and main lodge is a small lake which had many wild animals around it including Zebra, Baboon, Giraffe, Wilderbeast several types of antelope and even had some Hippos in the water.
The game drives run twice a day for around 3 hours each at 6am and 6pm. What we saw will stay with us forever: Elandela have white Lions! Yes, white Lions. They had had Zebra kill the day before we saw them and they were all chewing on various Zebra body parts when we caught up with them. We were a lot closer than I could ever have imagined and the four cubs were amazing.
No if’s or but’s the staff were truly out of this world. Everyone of them put you first and we’re real characters. Names we will never forget and people who made us both feel like friend and not just guests.
